Oslo Guldsmeden
Our quick weekend trip to Oslo was to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary and the Oslo Guldsmeden was the perfect combination of romantic and eclectic. It was situated in the perfect location, nearby the Royal Palace and Nationaltheatret train station and the newly renovated Aker Brygge (full of waterside restaurants, bars and shopping). The lobby is the definition of comfort and homey. With a huge day-bed sofa nestled by the fire, you could curl up with something warm to drink and relax after a day out exploring artsy Oslo. The Oslo Hammam-Spa includes a sauna, bath tub, steam bath and relaxation area. It's Turkish inspired and a signature in the Guldsmeden hotels and for only 100 NOK per person per stay (that's only $12!) it's a necessity in my books! The rooms are small (but what European hotel room isn't?!), but they are decorated uniquely and take cozy to a new level. The bathroom is stocked with the best Eco Essentials products...that peppermint and lavender body wash, just wow.Breakfast is included with the room--a completely organic and homemade spread of pure deliciousness. The strawberry jam was my weakness while the hubs was busy with local hams and fresh cheeses. Let's just say we didn't need lunch until dinner. The Guldsmeden hotel group has the 50 room hotel in Oslo, 4 hotels in Copenhagen, and the original 27 room hotel in Aarhus as well as a rental villa in the south of France and a luxury resort in Ubud, Bali (pick me, pick me!).Have you tried out a Guldsmeden before? Here are 10 things you can't miss in Oslo! And here is where you need to eat! Xx
