BERLIN TRAVEL GUIDE

Beautiful Berlin, with its' rather intense recent history, isn't always first on people's European bucket list...but here's why it should be!Berlin Travel GuideANYTHING GOES ATTITUDE : You've probably heard at least rumblings about nightlife in Berlin, but it's honestly like nothing I have ever experienced before! And you should experience it yourself. Our night out (and yes, it was only one night....many Berliners measure their "night out" in days rather than hours!), we ventured to an old Soviet warehouse turned multilevel club with the most intense house music and fog machines ever! This eccentric nightlife paired with the urban culture and arts scene makes Berlin one of the most creative and cultural centers In Europe!Berlin Travel Berlin TravelCHEAP EATS : I may be biased coming from London, where a cocktail can average £15 but Berlin has some seriously affordable eats! And some seriously delicious ones at that! We ate ourselves silly on the Secret Berlin Food Tour--a combination of amazing foodie stops and intriguing history bits over a four hour tour! Highly recommended. Here are a few of our favorites from this and other delicious eats in Berlin :Haroun : best doner kebab we had in Berlin!Scheers Schnitzel : the best schnitzel we've had anywhere!Street Food Thursdays at Markthalle IV.Bite Club : every two weeks in Kreuzberg, one of the biggest street food feasts breaks out!Splurge for dinner : Desbrosses at the Ritz.FYI : many places in Berlin do not accept credit cards so this is one place you want to have cash handy!Secret Food Tour Berlin Secret Food Tour BerlinBerlin Travel Berlin TravelHISTORY : Yes, of course, I can't skip this! I am truthfully such a history nerd and ate up every ounce of Berlin's history. Here are the best for getting your geek on :Typography of Terror : built on the site of the former Gestapo/SS headquarters, this exhibit contains a portion of the wall and a thorough history into the Nazi regimen.Checkpoint Charlie : the most well-known border crossing still has the original border crossing sign and solder's post...it's also been updated with a KFC and McDonald's on either side!East Side Gallery : the largest remaining segment of the Berlin Wall, is an open air gallery of famous graffiti art.Holocaust MemorialMuseum Island : Berlin itself has SO many incredible museums but this island has five world-renowned ones making it easy to hit a few in little time!Jewish MuseumBrandenburg Gate : one of the remaining city gates that was all but neglected during the division, as it was in No Man's Land.Alexanderplatz and Fernsehturm TV Tower : one of Germany's most famous squares with the commanding Fernsehturm towering over the city! It's a great vantage point over the city from the viewing deck but it would then exclude one of the most iconic and prominent skyline features!Berlin Travel Guide Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Berlin TravelBerlin Travel Guide Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Berlin Travel Secret Food Tour Berlin Secret Food Tour BerlinSTAY : Berlin is a fairly expansive city, meaning it's not the easiest walking city but the public transportation is easy to navigate and very affordable. We stayed in Mitte, which translates as "middle", making it one of the best locations to all the highlights in Berlin. The Berlin Hilton offers exceptional views of Gendarmenmarkt and easy walking distance to many of the major attractions....read more here!Berlin Hilton Berlin HiltonPin this for later : Berlin Travel
