My favorite holiday...
You would think moving to another English speaking country would be easy, simple even, especially in terms of language. Sure, we all have our strange little idioms but they should be pretty straightforward to pick up on, right? Easy as pie, piece of cake...a doddle? Hmm. I'm still learning, and mostly, googling. So is it a vacation or a holiday? Well, in this case, we'll say holiday, in both the British and American sense. See my anniversary IS my favorite (American) holiday (& holy moly, it's #5!) and my honeymoon was my favorite (British) holiday. Win, win for this expat. So with our five year anniversary imminently approaching, I thought I'd share with you my all-time favorite spot thus far! Amazing St. Lucia. We stayed at the gorgeous Ti Kaye resort built on the cliff side of the secluded Anse Cochon cove. The guest cottages are built into the cliff allowing for a natural, private escape into the perfect landscape. With an infinity pool overlooking the endless ocean, hammocks for a perfect breezy sunset viewing, and even the outdoor shower, the cottages at Ti Kaye are perfection.Besides the incredible panoramic views and cozy, secluded cottages, Ti Kaye offers an underground wine cellar, a relaxing spa, private beach, and two delicious restaurants. On Wednesdays, there is a Creole buffet and a live band!Location: Ti Kaye Resort & Spa is situated in Anse Cochon between the villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries. It takes approximately 80 minutes from Hewanorra International Airport (UVF) in Vieux Fort at the southern tip of the island, and 40 minutes from George F Charles Airport (SLU) in the north near Castries to get to the resort.Other musts in St Lucia: hike the Pitons, mud baths, rainforest adventures (canopy tour, gondola rides), whale watching, scuba and snorkeling, horse back riding.
