Amalfi Wanderings : Positano & Praiano

Positano was every bit the dream I had expected... layers upon layers of brightly colors buildings lining the crisp blue sea.  Really though, how gorgeous is it?!But if I am totally honest, I have mixed feelings about Positano, not because of the sweet, colorful little town but because of our crazy little afternoon there... It was my husband and I, and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law. We were hunting for the perfect spot to sip on some adult beverages and just gaze out at the gorgeous blue sea (apparently, we hadn't had enough of it yet). So scouting the perfect place became a bit of an adventure, from the sandy beach you could see a little cliff side bar--perfect! Climbing more stairs seems completely worth it for this view! We end up separated in a staggered formation along this winding, stone staircase looking for the narrow entryway to this perfect bar, each yelling upward and downward to one another that no, we still don't see it. Then I hear the hubs shout my name in a more frightening tone than oh no, can't find a place for beer! So I rush down the stairs and see him standing there covered in blood. Yes, blood. It looks like he has fallen down an entire Positano staircase or gotten in a wild brawl with a grizzly Italian (if there is such a thing).A nosebleed. How a nosebleed produces that much blood, I do not know! But the remainder of our Positano visit was spent searching for tissues and water-- and me, worrying my husband was dying of some bleeding disorder!Next up....From Positano, heading north you'll pass right through Praiano, blink and you might even miss it. We stumbled into Praiano via the blight blue sea. This little cove was like a hidden, secret beach. The only indicator of something more here was the slue of boats anchored in the cove...so we settled in and waited. Sure enough, a little Italian man boated over and brought us to shore and we feasted at Trattoria Da Armandino. No nosebleeds in Praiano! :)
