AFTERNOON TEA : BROWNS HOTEL

As London's oldest hotel, Brown's has a rich history with a lengthy list of distinguished guests making appearances over the last 170-something years...from the first UK telephone call by Alexander Graham Bell to President Roosevelt's honeymoon to Rudyard Kipling writing The Jungle Book during a stay.afternoon-tea-browns-hotelIn the heart of the city, Brown's is truly an iconic London landmark. It is the perfect starting or stopping off point during a day of exploring this incredible city. We came in for a very classic Afternoon Tea before exploring the shopping around the corner on Regent Street. afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotelIt was one of those surprisingly hot autumn days where you wish London would mandate air conditioning every where...and we were pleasantly greeted with a deliciously refreshing cold hibiscus tea.afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotelBrown's Traditional Afternoon Tea offers a tasting of sandwiches...the most amazing of the bunch, the whipped goat's curd, chili jam, and basil on tomato focaccia. Order an extra for me! The tea selection started with a Lemongrass and Ginger herbal infusion that perfectly complimented the savory sandwiches. afternoon-tea-browns-hotel For the sweet selections, I moved on to a Cornish Grown Black Tea. It was a great pair with the scones and dessert plate--including lemon, lime and orange macaroons, chocolate and raspberry slice, lime and kumbawa cheesecake, strawberry and basil tart, and carrot and walnut cake...afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotel afternoon-tea-browns-hotelBrown's is a great option for a very classically London Afternoon Tea experience--it embraces the extensive history of the city with the British tradition of afternoon tea, all within the perfect location for exploring all London has to offer.
