the perfect carry on
Here is a peak at what's inside my perfect carry-on bag:
You can't forget the essentials...passport/ID, cash, credit cards, and maps/directions for arrival. Keep these in an easy access, handy spot--but out of sight for pickpockets!
I don't always bring a pillow, just on long flights, because it takes up a lot of space and I haven't found an inflatable one that is comfy enough. The eyemask however, is crucial. It takes up little space and can really make a difference if you want to catch some quick zzzzzz!
I always keep my essential makeup items in my carry on, just in case my checked bag doesn't arrive. Plus, after even the shortest of flights I always need a little touch up! And facial wipes are amazing at refreshing and getting rid of that germy feel. Speaking of germs...I always carry antibacterial wipes to clean off my tray table and armrests. And hand sanitizer! The last thing you need is a cold at the start of your vacation.
You need something to entertain for the flight and my iPad seems to cover all the bases with this...movies, books/magazines, and card games, and takes up such little space! And don't forget the headphones.
I've mentioned before about my travel style being based on layering because of the unpredictability of temperature in airports and planes so I always bring another layer in my carry on, just in case. And a spare outfit for arrival, because if you don't, your checked bags won't arrive. I'm superstitious like that.
Last thing, I always keep a water bottle and a snack on my person at all times. You never know when that blood sugar will drop! ;) I love the Brita water bottles for traveling because you can fill up anywhere and voilà, clean water!
Happy travels, my friends! Xx
