ULTIMATE FOOD FEST IN QATAR
Starting our journey to the Qatar International Food Festival at London Heathrow, we boarded the impressive airbus with Qatar Airways headed to Doha. Shuffled upstairs we enter the business class loungers and I am already relaxed looking at this comfortable setup! Welcomed with a cold towel and refreshing glass of lime and mint spritz, I cozy myself into my seat. The seat mind you, that has a bed option…just seeing that gives me a yawn! A most relaxing six hours ahead. My fellow travel blogger, Demi of Girl Travels World, and I toast with some rose champs to the journey ahead! Before I know it, we are landing in Doha and ready to explore the gorgeous capital of Qatar before the Festival starts. We head to the O.G. in the hotel world of Qatar, the Sheraton Grand Doha. It was the first hotel to set up camp 35 years ago...but truthfully, it was the first thing to set up at all in Doha! Read all about our stay at the Sheraton here. We set out to explore Doha and really immersed ourselves in it...between the food, the art, and the culture, it was a perfect itinerary! Falcon Tours led us to all these incredible spots and you can see my favorites here! Now to QIFF, the Qatar International Food Festival. In its' 8th year, the festival has attracted cuisine from all over the world, and with that visitors as well. The booths line the Hotel Park near the Sheraton Grand Doha and you can find something for anyone! They also feature a Chef's Table with world renowned chefs offering an exclusive culinary experience. My favorite experience of QIFF was Dinner in the Sky...it was honestly one of the coolest experiences ever! We were strapped in and raised 50m in the sky to enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by the chefs at the Four Seasons. A three dinner that truthfully you had to inhale if you were anything like me and spent the first 20 minutes (of the 45 minute trip!) snapping photos of the views! QIFF also offers an amazing Cooking Theatre with chefs giving live cooking demonstrations...I should have spent a little more time here! Also, a library filled with recipes and refreshing books. The main stage offers a variety of entertainment and this gorgeous green space is the perfect picnic spot! Planning a visit during Qatar International Food Festival is the perfect time...plenty to see and loads of good food, what else do you need?!
