DUBAI DESERT SAFARI

A visit to Dubai is not complete without a desert excursion--and there are desert tours for every type of explorer! Adventurous dune bashing and sand boarding, romantic sunset drinks and dinner, or even step back in time and explore in a vintage land rover.Our wild dune bashing tour was organized by the Waldorf Astoria through Extreme Adventure, and extreme and adventure are the exact words I would use to describe it. From rolling and sliding through the sand dunes (thank goodness for seatbelts!) to *watching* Ryan sand board down huge dunes (re watching : I have this thing about sand in my shoes/pants/hair), it was all exciting and thrilling! After the heart racing portion of the tour, we settled into camp for camel riding, henna painting, shisha smoking, belly dancing and a barbecue dinner. Oh and of course, epic desert photo ops.
